i know some cheerful Uncles at war museum in cambodia. when i went there, an uncle spoke to me, saying "what do you have in your bag? is it mines? haha" "have me carry your bag, however right arm can't. haha" he doesn't have right arm. talking with the lovely and cheerful Uncle, i shed tears unconsciously.
i and my daughter went there again this time. we saw some Uncles who doesn't have arm or leg or fingers. and all Uncles are "cheerful". when we presented some comics and T-shirts, they were very pleased and hugged us.
but the Uncle told us the history about the civil war in Cambodia seriously. why the war happened, what the government do for them (nothing), he told.
and he taught the fear of the land-mine, hand grenades, or weapons with his "own" body.
after talking, he smiled and posed the "no war" with my daughter. i love them, and he said "see you again, take your family again. I'm looking forward." of course i'll.
